HVAC marketing notes. No junk theory.
Written for HVAC contractors in the Southeast. Ads, SEO, follow-up, creative — the stuff that actually hits the calendar.

31 booked customers and $1,800 of Meta — my shop
I posted this on TikTok: 31 new customers booked, $1,800 of Meta ads filled the week. That is my electric and HVAC business. It is not a Lead Junkie client case study. Here is the longer version for HVAC contractors who want Facebook ads that book, not a screenshot to photocopy.

25 new customers. $700 spend. My shop.
Another clip from my own content: 25 new customers with $700 of marketing spend. Same label as every number on this site — Joey’s electric and HVAC business, not a Lead Junkie client wall.

HVAC vs plumbing vs electrical — HVAC is the job
I posted about HVAC versus plumbing versus electrical because the ads are not interchangeable. Lead Junkie’s focus is HVAC contractors in the Southeast. Other home-service shops can still reach out. I am not a generic “we do all trades” mill.

Forms vs Messages: if nobody replies, you paid for a list
The TikTok is short on purpose. Instant Forms dump a name. Messenger starts a chat. For HVAC contractors, the right path depends on the job and whether a human replies in two minutes or two days.

Old-school HVAC SEO is not enough if you need the phone to ring
I said on TikTok that old-school SEO is no longer enough for HVAC contractors who actually need calls. That is not “SEO is dead.” It is that a 2014 brochure site and a ranking report will not save a shop that misses the phone and has no search ads for no-cool.

You may not need more new HVAC customers
I keep saying this because shops keep buying ads on top of a leak. Estimates sitting in a thread. Last year’s tune-ups. If follow-up is dead, another month of Meta is you paying twice.

Getting better takes meaningful ad spend. I spent $750,000.
The clip is about learning digital marketing by paying for it. I spent $750,000 of my own money while running an electric and HVAC shop. That shop went from $2.1 million to $7 million. Those are my numbers. Not Lead Junkie clients.

Stop advertising like a national HVAC brand
You are not Trane’s national campaign. That is the point. Homeowners book the shop that sounds like a real person who can show up tomorrow — not the one that overthought looking “professional” on social.

Why HVAC Facebook ads turn into junk
HVAC owners don’t fail at Facebook because “leads are dead.” They fail because the campaign is built to collect names, not to book a truck. Here’s the pattern I keep seeing.
Creative
Turn HVAC job videos into ads
The best HVAC ads usually start as organic posts. Phone in a pocket, real unit, tech talking normal. Then you pay to show the ones that already worked.
Google
Google Local Services Ads for HVAC contractors
LSA can put HVAC contractors at the top of search with a Google Badge. It cannot fix a shop that doesn’t answer, a thin review profile, or a service area you don’t actually run.
First call
What HVAC contractors should tell me on the first call
If you get on a call with someone who sells HVAC marketing and they don’t ask how work shows up today, hang up. Here’s what I actually need so I don’t waste your time.
Follow-up
Missed-call text-back for HVAC shops
Your ads can be perfect. If the call hits voicemail at 6:12pm and nobody texts back, the homeowner calls the next HVAC company. This is not a software essay. It’s the leak.
Creative
Seasonal HVAC ad creative
If your HVAC ads look the same in August and in March, one of those months is lying. Southeast weather is the calendar. Creative should follow it.
Websites
HVAC landing pages that don’t waste spend
You can win the click and still lose the job. HVAC landing pages fail when they hide the phone, talk like a brand, or send the form into a black hole.
Meta & TikTok
Stop boosting HVAC posts
The boost button is not a campaign. It’s a shortcut that feels productive. HVAC contractors use it, get junk or silence, then swear “Facebook doesn’t work.”
Google Ads
HVAC Google Ads negatives: stop paying for DIY
Google will happily bill an HVAC contractor for “how to recharge my AC,” “HVAC jobs,” and zips you do not run. Negatives are not optional. They are how search stays a booked-truck channel instead of a leak.
Meta Ads
HVAC Meta creative testing is not the boost button
Testing HVAC Facebook ads means letting organic tell you which job footage stops the scroll, then paying to find out which of those clips book. Boosting a random install photo is not a test. It is a donation.
SEO
HVAC SEO service pages that match how people search
Homeowners do not search “comprehensive indoor comfort solutions.” They search “AC not cooling” and “heat pump not heating.” HVAC SEO that works is pages for the jobs you actually run — in language a dispatcher would recognize.
Follow-up
HVAC estimate follow-up that does not sound like software
You already paid for the lead, the drive, and the quote. Then it dies in a thread. HVAC contractors do not have a lead problem as often as they have an estimate graveyard. The sequence should sound like your shop.
Follow-up
After-hours speed-to-lead is where HVAC ads go to die
A no-cool at 6:12pm does not wait for tomorrow’s CSR shift. If the call hits voicemail and nobody texts back, the homeowner calls the next HVAC company. Your Meta and Google “results” were fine. The job still left.
Google
LSA vs Google search ads for HVAC — pick on purpose
Local Services Ads and search campaigns are both Google. They are not the same product. HVAC contractors mix them up, turn both on, and then swear “Google doesn’t work” when the phone process was the leak.
